Green and White Color Block Tile Bathroom

05/08/19

Well we made it to another One Room Challenge reveal!! I’m so excited to share this space with you guys and once again am so grateful for this challenge, for giving us the kick in the butt we needed to finish this room! So let’s take a look at our new Green and White Color Block Tile Bathroom!

But first, if you want to see how we got to where we are today, be sure to check out all our progress each week from the beginning!

Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5

Of course we have to remember what this room looked like before (post black toilet and black pedestal sink).

So here it is!

GREEN AND WHITE COLOR BLOCK TILE BATHROOM

I couldn’t love it more. Since it was a half bath I thought it would be fun to play around and do something different and it totally paid off. I wasn’t sure how so much tile would look but I’m obsessed.

We bought the tile locally from Buckeye Tile and it’s the Peronda Poitier Tile in Sage and White. The floors were replaced with the rest of the main level back in the fall and are wood look tiles called Treverkchic in the color Francese from Marazzi.

Green and White Vertical Stacked Tile in Bathroom

The dresser I found on Facebook Marketplace and refinished it to turn into our vanity. I used a Dark Walnut stain on it and added new gorgeous gold hardware from Rejuvenation. To prevent water damage, it’s sealed using Tung Oil.

It provides plenty of storage in such a small space and brings in some warmth with the wood tone.

Brass Hardware on a Wood Bathroom Vanity

Choosing a sink was hard! I polled you guys on instagram about what sink to get and it was pretty close! I decided to go with this unique oval shape sink I found and couldn’t love it more. Paired with our sleek brass faucet, it keeps things simple and minimal.

I’ll be sharing a more in depth blog post about how to install the shelf between tile like that but it was SO easy. We did it in our master bathroom too and I just love the added interest it brings into a room.

Can we just talk about how good this mirror from Edgework Creative is?! I’m still so grateful to them for driving all the way from Columbus to deliver it to me. And it hasn’t fallen off so I think we’re good 😉 I love the round shape and think it helps balance out all the other straight lines in the room.

Black Oval Mirror Above Bathroom Vanity

To finish off this side of the bathroom, I added two hanging pendant lights. I originally had wanted something more modern and sleek but I like the unique shape of the globes on these and think mixing in something a little more traditional was fun and unexpected.

Keeping the decor around the toilet minimal helped things to not get overcrowded. I took a piece of artwork that was up in my office nook and re-framed it and placed it on the ledge. Then I found this cool wooden candle holder that I used for a few different accessories.

And can we talk about the rug?! I waited until everything else was in before deciding on one which didn’t leave me much time. Of course I found a gorgeous vintage one from Turkey and luckily they had insanely fast shipping and it arrived just in time.

I feel like my ORC posts usually have SO many photos but this room is s small! And dark. It was definitely a challenge to photograph. But here’s some more beauty shots!

Thanks for all your support along the way and for helping me make decisions! I hope you guys love our Green and White Color Block Tile Bathroom as much as we do! Cheers to another successful One Room Challenge in the books!

I did a bathroom reno and tiled over the old tile. It really scared me at first. I was worried that I would wake up one morning and all of the tile would be on the floor! Fortunately, I have had no issues with the tile and it has been almost a year. By the way your bathroom is gorgeous! I love everything you do!

As always, there’s two sizes for you to choose from and a short easy tutorial for you to follow to make the cute little wooden stand too 📅 My little office nook has gone through a lot of phases since we first moved in 4.5 years ago (swipe through to see them all!) and last year I finally upgraded my desk to one I could properly sit at 🤣 I took two Alex drawers from IKEA and added wood trim and caning for an elevated look and topped it off with a faux butcher block counter made from a $30 door slab. 👊🏻 the cherry on top for this space was our new skylight that instantly brightened it up and brings in so much beautiful natural light ☀️ this nook never felt quite right until now and I’m excited to spend more time here this year working on lots of exciting projects! Oh 2020. While it wasn’t what any of us expected Oh 2020. While it wasn’t what any of us expected I’m focusing on all the good that came out of it. I remember sitting with Dan New Year’s Eve last year and being so hopeful for what our future held and praying it would bring us another baby after we had been trying with no luck. I found out only a couple weeks later I was pregnant and that joy carried us through the year even though it brought fear and worry along with it. Besides welcoming our sweet baby girl into our lives we experienced so many other amazing things. The time we got to spend as a family is something we’ll always cherish. We worked on so many projects together and continued to pour our hearts into making this house a place we can call home. And we built A LOT of arches 🤣 Eloise was on the cover of a magazine, Hawk’s hair grew back in full force, we beat Covid and captain Christmas reminded us what the holiday season is really about. but most importantly we leaned into god and relied on him more than ever to get us through each day. That’s the relationship I want to continue to work on and I’m grateful that this year nudged me closer to the One who deserves all the glory and continues to be faithful 🙏🏻 happy new year friends 🤍 cheers to 2021 🍾

Which view do you prefer? 🤪 we compromise every Which view do you prefer? 🤪 we compromise every year: Dan and his dad get their giant artificial tree with colored blinking lights, handmade ornaments (and this year, tinsel) and I get my real tree with white lights and neutral ornaments. If you’ve been following all the Captain Christmas adventures on my stories you know I let Dan go all out and he hung tinsel garland and colored lights ALL over our house. I decorated a few small areas but I was getting SO unnecessarily stressed thinking about decorating our entire home and creating perfect content for you guys. So I said F it and it felt SO good. And it brought so much joy to him and the kids. And for that, it was worth it 🙌🏻 there’s nothing wrong with a beautifully styled Instagram worthy home but this time of year should be a reminder of the things that truly matter in life - and I don’t want to miss out on them. However you decorate for christmas I hope you can find joy in it 🙌🏻 and maybe let go of those picture perfect expectations a little 😉 captain Christmas stories are saved in a highlight! 🎄#2020 #breinspired #ohchristmastree
