Wood Look Tile Floors in a Modern Boho Bedroom

05/17/17

This post is sponsored by Floor & Decor but as always all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Finally!! Our room is starting to feel like a bedroom again. Our gorgeous wood look tile floors from Floor & Decor are in and I’m starting to put things back together. It’s not totally done yet (I forgot how big this room actually is) but we’ve come a long way and I’m so excited to finally share it with you!

If you’re new here or need a little reminder, the carpet that was original to the house was in this room. I did a good job of hiding it in most of my photos, but it was stained and gross and needed to go YEARS AGO.

True Life :: I'm a Blogger and My House is a Hot Mess

And here we are today! I can’t even believe how much of a difference the new floors make. It feels like a TOTALLY different space and I couldn’t love it more. We used the Brighton Natural Wood Plank Ceramic Tiles which are super affordable and such a pretty light color. They’re 7″ x 20″ planks which I was a little nervous about, but with the grout color, they totally blend in to one another and don’t look too short.

I love how easy they are to keep clean too. They don’t show any dirt or dust and I can just do a quick once over with the swiffer and our hand held vacuum (to get Oakley’s hair).

We replaced the ceiling fan with a gorgeous new light from Lucent Light Shop which makes the room feel more open and airy. The black fan was so thick and heavy and totally stuck out like a sore thumb.

And of course every bedroom makeover has to include new bedding. We got some fresh linens from Boll & Branch that are seriously so soft and comfy. All this yummy new stuff makes it so hard to get out of bed in the morning. Or leave this room at all for that matter!

Our nightstands are from Target (and if you’re looking for similar affordable mid century ones under $200 check out THIS POST.)

I also got us a new rug since our old one was a jute rug that I thought was going to blend into the floors too much. Not gonna lie, when it’s laying out on it’s own with nothing on top of it, it definitely makes you a little dizzy ha. But once the bed was over it, it helped tone it down and I really love it.

With our new walls that we built for our bathroom it created the perfect little nook for a desk. I scored the cutest little guy on Craigslist that I drove an hour and a half to get #worthit.  I do miss my big desk but I forgot how amazing it is to have drawers! ha. Plus with a smaller desk, I’m thinking it will be way easier to keep it clean, right?! I’ve still got a little decorating to do in there but I love where it’s headed!

I also found this gorgeous new dresser on craigslist. I’m not sure if it’s going to stay in that corner or not – it will probably depend on what we put under the windows which will probably be a couch or daybed. Stay tuned for that! We got some awesome new blinds from Blindster as well. The windows just aren’t something we’re going to replace anytime soon, so I kept all the trim the same and found these blinds that matched perfectly.

Here’s the view heading back out to the hallway where you can see the entrance to our new bathroom!

And of course our awkward corner mantle. This is going to be our summer project. We were going to do it while we redid the floors, but the bathroom reno kind of took over our lives instead. So I’ve been researching and pinning like crazy to try and come up with a plan for this spot! We definitely want to add some sort of fireplace underneath the tv but not quite sure what that’s going to look like yet.

But let’s not end on that ugly picture…these floors seriously steal the show don’t they?!

I can’t wait to get this space fully done and share it with you guys, but I’m going to try and be patient and let it come together on it’s own time. No 6 week deadline 😉 But at least we have new floors and I couldn’t love them more.

Would you guys ever put wood look tile in your home? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Another big thank you to Floor & Decor for providing product for this makeover!

Your room/ flooring looks great! I am looking at floor and decor for the wood look tiles now and was concerned about the smaller size too but yours looks really nice. Can you please share the width that they are spaced apart and the grout color? Thank you!

I actually have thought about the wood look tile. It would work so well for ease of cleanup, and looks great too. I have a big, white Lab who is a hair machine, churning out masses of hair daily. The color you chose would be perfect to camouflage it until I could Swiffer it up! Enjoy your new fresh space, and sweet dreams.

It’s in Newport, Rhode Island and we got to hear all about the design process from @bpatrickflynn who did an incredible job once again. I always love hearing what inspires a designer and where their inspiration comes from. And since we’re knee deep in an exterior makeover, it was so fun to hear all about how this home’s exterior was brought to life with the help of @belgardoutdoorliving. It got me thinking about the hardscape of our backyard plans which wasn’t something I had thought much about. It’s a great way to create more livable space with things like patios, outdoor kitchens and fire pits. And they recently launched the Belgard Rooms Program which allows you to visualize exactly what your space can be. They’re kindly offering up a fire pit kit for me to give away to one of you so be sure to head to my stories to enter! Are you working on any fun outdoor makeovers this year?
