The Best Places to Find Decorative Wall Baskets

02/01/17

Ok so every time I share a picture of this one little corner in our bedroom, I always get asked where I find these decorative baskets on the wall. So I figured I’d do a post about it and share some of my sources with you! They’re the perfect way to add a little texture and dimension to a space and they’re usually pretty affordable too. So let’s chat about The Best Places to Find Decorative Wall Baskets.

THRIFT STORES

This is by far the cheapest route to go and where I find a lot of my baskets. Not only for the wall, but for plants too. Check your local Salvation Army, Habitat Restore or any other second hand shop you have in your town. This is where they will be the cheapest too. I’m talking like $1. And keep an eye out for flat trays too. They don’t all have to be actual baskets. It’s actually better to have a little variety!

ETSY
There are a bunch of shops on Etsy that sell vintage baskets. These are a few of the search terms I’ll put in that give me good results: “wall basket” “rattan basket” “wicker basket” “vintage wall basket” “woven wall basket” “coil basket” “vintage rattan tray”.  You can usually find a ton of them that way – but to help you narrow it down, these are a few shops that have a great selection.

Baskets and Brass – This shop sells the baskets in a group, so you just make one purchase, and you’ve got a whole set that’s ready to hang up on your wall.

Dragonfly Gypsy Soul – This shop has some collections as well as individual baskets for sale.

Echo Echo Vintage – You can find some baskets with a little more color in this shop.

Tresor Cru – A lot of really pretty unique shaped flat baskets.

You could get lost on Etsy for hours searching for baskets! Trust me, I have 😉

Local + Lejos
They have some super pretty coiled bowls that would work perfectly in a basket wall. Plus they’re all about one of a kind goods created by artisans near and far – helping support the small businesses around the world. Can’t go wrong with that!

Chairish
If you’re not familiar with Chairish, it’s similar to Etsy, where you create an account and sell your goods. There are some pretty reasonably priced baskets on here and most of the sellers are vintage lovers, so you’re sure to find some one of a kind gems.

For the heavier ones I use nails, but if they are pretty light weight then I use the sticky command strips!

I don’t! The space isn’t entirely finished yet…we’re about to replace the carpet with hardwood tile and once that’s done I’ll have the rest of it finished!

It’s in Newport, Rhode Island and we got to hear all about the design process from @bpatrickflynn who did an incredible job once again. I always love hearing what inspires a designer and where their inspiration comes from. And since we’re knee deep in an exterior makeover, it was so fun to hear all about how this home’s exterior was brought to life with the help of @belgardoutdoorliving. It got me thinking about the hardscape of our backyard plans which wasn’t something I had thought much about. It’s a great way to create more livable space with things like patios, outdoor kitchens and fire pits. And they recently launched the Belgard Rooms Program which allows you to visualize exactly what your space can be. They’re kindly offering up a fire pit kit for me to give away to one of you so be sure to head to my stories to enter! Are you working on any fun outdoor makeovers this year?

More forsythia spam because they bring happiness t More forsythia spam because they bring happiness to any room 😍 our bush is already almost green but they sure are pretty while they last! It was about a year ago that we were getting ready to rip out this bathroom and start demo. The last bathroom in our home that needed updating and I had so much fun designing it! You probably wouldn’t know it was a kids bathroom but I’ve always been a huge believer in not having to sacrifice beauty when designing spaces for my kids. I love the challenge of keeping it in line with my aesthetic while still making it functional and fun for them. But I did put their toothbrushes away for this pic 🤪 happy hump day! #breinspired

You guys know I love making a mood board/mock up before starting a project but these are on a whole different level 🙌🏻 they totally brought my vision to life and were so awesome to work with. And they just launched in Ohio this month! I’m getting ready to start ordering some materials and can’t wait to turn these plans into reality 👊🏻 oh and check in to stories later today to find out if my FIL is on board with painting the house dark! 😬
Sometimes you just need to call in a pro to get th Sometimes you just need to call in a pro to get the job done 💡 I’ve been wanting sconces above our couch for a while now and decided to finally do it! The only lighting we have in here is overhead so we’ve lacked that cozy night time glow while watching tv, reading a book or just hanging. So not only are these pretty but they’re practical too - good lighting is a total game changer and I’m all about setting the right mood for a space. Totally worth hiring an electrician to make my sconce dreams come true! 😍
