White, Gold & Grey Chair :: Themed Furniture Makeover Day

Date
Feb, 19, 2015

It’s a good thing I like monthly challenges huh? If you missed last week’s Monthly DIY Challenge check it out here! And if you’re new around here, Themed Furniture Makeover Day happens every second to last Thursday of each month.

WHITE, GOLD & GREY CHAIR

White, Gold, & Grey Chair

Ok, so this month’s theme was CHAIRS! I had the perfect one I picked up in Pittsburgh along with this filing cabinet and this buffet. I really hit the jackpot at Construction Junction and have been itching to go back ever since!

Old Chair Before

I really wish I had bought more of these chairs, they were $5, but I just didn’t have the room. Boo.

I started out by unscrewing the seat and removing that nasty old fabric. Only to find…more nasty old fabric!

Old Chair Seat

Oaks got his stinky little nose in there too.

Not only did the fabric clearly need to be replaced but so did the wood.

Old Wood

I went to Home Depot and bought a piece of particle board and traced the old wood shape onto that and cut it out with my jigsaw.

Tracing New Wood

I bought a new piece of foam and recovered the seat with this awesome grey and white fabric I got at JoAnns.

Cover Seat With fabric

For the frame of the chair, I spray painted it using this stuff.

And for the gold, I used my trusty Rub ‘N Buff 😉

White and Gold Chair Makeover

I’m really mad I didn’t buy more of these! Grr. This lovely little guy is for sale though and hopefully finds it’s way into a good home 🙂

Be sure to check out all the other chairs from my bloggy friends below!

Have a fabulous day everyone!

Bre I’d be kicking myself too for not buying the rest of the chairs. $5.00, I would have had them stacked on the roof of my car for that price. LOL Love the makeover you gave it and the gold details are perfect! Don’t you just love the Heirloom White spray paint color? Closest to Old White chalk paint and so much easier to apply on things like chairs.
